Mashumbini Catering (Pty) Ltd Warranty Policy

At Mashumbini Catering, we strive to ensure our customers receive high-quality products and services. Below are the warranty terms applicable to products purchased from us.


Warranty Coverage

Small Items (Non-Electrical):
Mashumbini Catering does not offer warranties or guarantees on small wares unless the product is faulty on delivery or of inferior quality. In such cases, at our discretion, the customer may receive a replacement product or a full credit if no replacement is available.

Electrical Appliances:
All electrical appliances carry a 1-year warranty from the date of sale unless specified for certain items or brands. This warranty covers manufacturing defects, faulty parts, or workmanship, provided the equipment is used according to its intended purpose and operating manual.


Warranty Exclusions

The warranty will be deemed invalid in cases of:

  1. Improper Use – Misuse of the product or failure to follow operating instructions.
  2. Incorrect Installation – Use of unqualified technicians for installation or improper electrical, gas, or plumbing connections.
  3. Unauthorized Repairs – Repairs or modifications performed by anyone other than Mashumbini Catering or an approved service agent.
  4. External Damage – Issues caused by power surges, water supply failure, drainage issues, or environmental factors like chemical exposure or extreme weather.
  5. Normal Wear and Tear – Blades, belts, bulbs, filters, and other consumable parts.
  6. Lack of Maintenance – Failure to clean and maintain the equipment as outlined in the product manual.

Service Process

Carry-In Items:
Countertop items that are portable and do not require professional installation must be delivered to our service centre or an accredited repair agent at the customer’s cost. Customers must include the original proof of purchase with the serial number of the product.

Large Appliances:
For larger equipment requiring professional installation, Mashumbini Catering will arrange for a technician to visit the customer’s premises for repairs. Customers must provide proof of purchase and serial number before scheduling a repair.

Repair Timelines:
While we aim to complete repairs within 72 hours, delays may occur due to factors such as parts availability or technician schedules. Mashumbini Catering is not liable for any loss of income or other damages resulting from repair delays.


Special Considerations

Refrigeration Equipment:
All refrigeration products must be installed and maintained per the provided manual. Failure to use water filters or to replace them as recommended will void the warranty. Refrigeration warranties vary:

  • Ice Machines: Up to 2 years (1 year on parts and 2 years on compressors).
  • Other Refrigeration Units: 1-year warranty unless otherwise specified.

Gas Appliances:
All gas appliances must be installed by a certified LP Gas installer, and a compliance certificate must be provided. Failure to comply with gas safety standards will void the warranty.


Warranty Limitations

Mashumbini Catering will not be held responsible for:

  • Consequential damages, including loss of income or business interruptions.
  • Damage caused by fire, flood, vandalism, or acts of God.
  • Rusted or corroded parts due to improper use or maintenance.
